Writer, Director, and Star of the "Kiss My Bumper" Car Insurance Commercials...
My Musical Comedy Stage Play. Others include Ebony Scrooge, Never Would Have Made It...
My comedic character I developed back in 1997. I usually perform Grandma G at church events, schools, gospel concerts...
Mike is doing standup comedy...he's doing quite well. I pray to GOD that he continues to bless me, my family and friends.
I started out video taping comedy/talent shows for Rickey Shackleford (a local Baltimore comedian) in the late 80’s. It wasn’t until the early 90’s I decided to stop being behind the camera...but to get in front of it. My first time on stage was at Gatsby’s Night Club in Baltimore...the year was 1990. To be honest with you...I did quite well for my first time on stage...I couldn’t believe it. As a teenager I would watch Eddie Murphy and mimic his comedy routine in front of the mirror...crack myself up too. In my first three years I have developed celebrity voice impressions.
I am a professional stand-up comic/actor/playwright from Baltimore. I travel all across the country performing at clubs, colleges and venues. Some people may know me from the "Kiss My Bumper" car insurance commercials' (local car insurance commercial that airs in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Washington D.C). I did a national tourism commercial with former governor of Maryland "Erhlich". In addition, three seasons of BET's "Comic View". I've also had a principle role on HBO's "The Wire", "The Corner", and also NBC's "Homicide". I am currently writing and directing musical stage plays of which I have on dvd for sale.
In 2003, I wrote a musical comedy stage play "As Cherry Hill Turns". It's comedy stage play about my hometown Baltimore. GOD WILLING...my play will travel all around the world.
Allow me just to give you some of the things I have accomplished. I have
appeared twice on the television show "Showtime At The Apollo"... once as a
amateur... two years later as a professional. Russell Simmons’s HBO Def Comedy
Jam came next... Steve Harvey was the host. Then BET’s Comicview...I have
appeared on three seasons (2000 to 2003). I have opened up for Martin Lawrence,
Jamie Fox, Kevin Pollock, Dave Chappell, Tommy Davidson, Yolanda Adams, The
Isley Brothers, The Temptations, and Patti Labelle to just name a few.
In the summer of 2002, I had the honor to go overseas to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia,
Afghanistan, and Pakistan to perform for our U.S troops. Trust me...it was the
most gratifying experience I have ever felt in my comedy career. Just to know I
made a difference in those soldiers lives...makes me feel wonderful.
